0227_SHSO_Sutter Health Physician & APC Leadership Symposium_Live
Description:
Together, we will make history by writing the next chapter for our patients through our support of the practice of medicine at Sutter Health. Power of PRACTICE celebrates the positive difference every physician or advanced practice clinician (APC) makes in the organization and, more broadly, in healthcare—and it underscores the even greater impact we have when our collective practice comes together to transform our patient, team, and clinician experiences. Each one of us has talent, expertise, ideas and leadership that will energize our work together to establish Sutter Health as the best place to practice medicine and care for the whole person. This symposium seeks to address professional practice gaps related to:
- Competency in accessing system-level service line resources for improved patient care.
- Limited participation in the decision-making process pertaining to value-based care network design, clinical protocol development, and key program development intended to assist patients with navigating the care continuum with a focus on transitions of care, disease-specific management, complex case management and advanced illness management.
- Knowledge of resources and opportunities for professional development that increase one's Joy of Work and fosters continuous improvement in clinical care standards necessary to optimize patient outcomes.
- Underutilization of wellness-related resources that can lead to an increased vulnerability of "burnout" or "compassion fatigue" that is associated with increased medical errors and iatrogenic harm.
- Need for creative adaptation to external drivers and healthcare market trends that can better serve patients and maintain a cohesive team structure.
- Diminished ability to deliver results when things are constantly changing (industry trends, recruitment and retention deficiencies, reimbursement adjustments, shifts in technology, new treatment options, post-pandemic service offerings, etc.).
