Description:
Schwartz Rounds is a nationally supported program run by hospital planning committees that engage in case discussions about the experience of providing care. These Grand Rounds offer a multidisciplinary forum for providing support to clinicians and staff with challenging patient care situations. Schwartz Rounds allow caregivers to come together and talk about emotional and social aspects of health care. The goals of this Schwartz Rounds include:
1) recognizing the impact of family and caregiving support in the patient experience
2) understanding how barriers to communication affect quality of care
3) learn coping strategies for witnessing patient suffering.
