Caryn Brustman, RN, BSN, MSN

I have worked at Sutter Roseville since I graduated nursing school in 1997. I started my career as a PM nurse on the telemetry unit. After about 1 year I became the PM/NOC manager and stayed on that unit for about 7 years. Next, I moved to the oncology unit, again managing the PM/NOC crew. I didn't have much experience in nursing school with oncology but quickly came to love caring for patients during their treatment and even more, loved being a part of patients dying experience. While on oncology I learned about palliative care and helped with our palliative care consultation team. My next move was to help build, design and open the bed tower and what is now our med/surg/neuro unit, and I am still there!!
Personally, I attended nursing school at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. I got my Master of Nursing in Leadership Development from Western Governors University. I am happily married and have 2 amazing daughters. My oldest daughter recently graduated from nursing school and is a nurse on the telemetry unit. My youngest daughter is still in nursing school at Arizona State University. I love Sutter Health and Sutter Roseville Medical Center!!
