Course Description: 

Performance coaching can help healthcare providers and healthcare systems to continually improve patient care delivery by enhancing professional development, promote collaboration within the healthcare team, combat burnout, promote physician well-being, and thereby subsequently improve patient experience. SMG has recently undergone tremendous change. Many of our leaders are at different places in terms of their experience and leadership knowledge and skills. These leaders are responsible for coaching their direct reports on skills and techniques that impact the work environment as well as the patient experience. As a result, their direct reports will then have the knowledge and skills to coach their frontline, creating a culture of coaching and continual improvements to patient satisfaction. Overview of the 3 Sessions in the Application to Practice Series: Session #1- Set personal development goals and define indicators of progress Session #2- Practice GROW model coaching in triads and identify necessary feedback Session #3- Conduct peer feedback on personal development goals and identify resources for further learning

Group #1

This coaching group's dates occur on Tuesday mornings.  Dates are as follows:

Session 1: 10/24, 7:00 am – 8:30 am

Session 2: 11/14, 7:00 am – 8:30 am

Session 3: 12/12, 7:00 am – 8:30 am

 

Group #2

This coaching group's dates occur on Thursday mornings.  Dates are as follows:

Session 1: 10/26, 7:00 am – 8:30 am

Session 2: 11/16, 7:00 am – 8:30 am

Session 3: 12/14, 7:00 am – 8:30 am

 

Group #3

This coaching groups dates occur on Friday afternoons.  Dates are as follows:

Session 1: 10/27, noon – 1:30 pm

Session 2: 11/17, noon – 1:30 pm

Session 3: 12/15 noon – 1:30 pm

 

Group #4

This coaching groups dates occur on Friday afternoons.  Dates are as follows:

Session 1: 11/3, noon – 1:30 pm

Session 2: 12/1, noon – 1:30 pm

Session 3: 12/22 noon – 1:30 pm

After attending this activity learners should be able to:

Demonstrate skills and abilities as a Coach-Leader reflective of collaboration and peer coaching that utilizes the LAC tools.

Apply recommended strategies to build a psychologically safe environment where leaders and the team will feel comfortable being coached.
