0433_HI_The Master Debriefing_ Live

November 27, 2024

Description:

Simulation is a significant component of healthcare training programs. This instructional modality is frequently used to augment students' knowledge and practical skills in caring for complex patients as there are shortages in clinical placements for trainees, which results in the need for more sufficient opportunities to practice skills in simulated environments. However, there are barriers to using simulation because more trained simulation facilitators are needed. The Master Debriefer Course (Virtual Edition) provides the advanced content, strategies, and tools to transform debriefing conversations into vehicles of change within healthcare environments. This immersive 7-week virtual online course focuses on improving debriefing skills by weaving through several important debriefing and feedback practice elements.

Target Audience

Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Nurse, Registered (RN)

Physicians (MD or DO)

Other Healthcare Professionals

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this learning activity, participants should be able to
1. Apply advanced debriefing techniques to learn context.
2. Demonstrate an environment for learner-centeredness during debriefing.
3. Manage difficult and/or emotional learning conversations.
4. Understand the role of culture in debriefing and feedback.
