0428_SHSO_Controlled Substance Diversion Capstone _Live
Description:
Drug diversion by healthcare workers is a hidden and often unreported problem. This educational activity aims to help learners understand the impact of drug diversion. The most commonly diverted medications in healthcare are opioids and nervous system depressants. While these medications are most commonly associated with substance abuse disorder, it's important to note that drug diversion involves all prescription drugs. This course will cover the signs to look for and the resources available for employees at Sutter Health. It will also explore how drug diversion investigations are conducted and the impact drug diversion has not only on employees but also on patients' outcomes.
