0396_PAMF_Asthma SMART Roll Out_Grand Rounds_EM
Description:
This live course will educate clinicians on plans to improve asthma outcomes at Sutter Health. Sutter is transitioning from our current asthma standard of care to SMART (Single Maintenance and Reliever Therapy). The course will discuss the efficacy of SMART and supporting research conducted by the Global Institute for Asthma (GINA). SMART is directly correlated with reduced mortality, fewer ER visits & hospitalizations, and less oral CS use. Learners will also review the general workflow of incorporating SMART into practice, medication coverage, patient education on asthma action plans, and address concerns surrounding SMART. Asthma is an underperformed metric at Sutter Health and the first step to SMART standardization and implementation is educating clinicians.
