Description:
This lecture provides information about sources and risk factors for childhood lead exposures, implementation of California childhood lead screening regulations, and appropriate medical, public health, and environmental interventions related to lead exposure. Health inequity based on race and income level contributes to increased exposure to environmental hazards, including lead. Historically, these sites that may increase exposure to lead have been located in or near low-income housing, and areas with majority area of non-white populations. Examples of these sites include industrial and manufacturing sites, power plants, oil refineries, smelters hazardous waste, battery recycling sites, and freeways
