Description: 

The All-Division Orthopedic Department Meeting is a biannual meeting of every orthopedic physician across PAMF. Each meeting includes a 1-hour educational session on emerging topics or case-based discussions to meet the educational needs of attendees to address challenging orthopedic conditions and discuss recent advances in orthopedic treatments. During these sessions, several different surgeons present complex or interesting cases and review them in the context of new advances in orthopedics.

Learning Objectives

Risks and benefits of bisphosphonates presentation

1. Share data about perioperative bisphosphonate use.

2. Improve coordination with primary care and orthopedic care.

3. Review hip fracture mortality data.

Improving Quality, Reducing Risks: A PAFMG Update

1. Attendees will gain awareness and education and utilize resources regarding CRP program.

2. Attendees will know the why and how to report harm /adverse events.

3. Attendees will be able to apply CRP principles using a case example.

Basal Joint Arthritis- A Review of Current Managment Options

1. Describe the clinical and radiographic features of basal joint arthritis.

2. Describe current non-operative treatment options for basal joint arthritis.

3. Describe current surgical options for basal joint arthritis.

4. Review the clinical practice guidelines for basal joint arthritis management.

Periprosthetic Joint Infection (PJI) – Prevention Techniques

1. Understand the pathogenesis of PJI.

2. Understand pre-operative measures for host optimization.

3. Understand intra-operative measures for prevention.
