Course Description:
Despite being the #1 cause of death in women, cardiovascular disease in women is under recognized and under treated. In addition, traditional risk factors underestimate risk in women, and female-specific risk factors are not under-evaluated. This presentation provides a review cardiovascular risk factors in women, after which learners are encouraged to discuss the diagnosis and management of ischemic heart disease and heart failure in women to improve health outcomes.
