Mahazarin Ginwalla, MD, MS, FACC, FHFSA

Dr. Ginwalla is a board-certified advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation cardiologist. After graduating from medical school at Lokmanya Tilak Medical College in Mumbai, India, Dr. Ginwalla pursued her Masters in Medical Microbiology and Immunology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She subsequently completed her Internal Medicine residency at the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee, and Cardiovascular diseases fellowship at Case Western Reserve University/Metrohealth Medical Center. Dr. Ginwalla completed her Advanced Heart Failure and Cardiac Transplantation fellowship at Stanford University Medical Center in Palo Alto, California and subsequently joined University Hospitals Cleveland Medical Center in Cleveland Ohio, where she was Associate Professor at Case Western Reserve University and Medical Director of Heart Failure. She joined Sutter Health/ Palo Alto Foundation Medical Group (PAFMG) in Burlingame, California in January 2020, where she is working currently as the VIce Chief of Staff, Chair of the Cardiovascular Service Line, and Medical Director of Heart Failure.
Dr. Ginwalla actively participates in clinical practice, research, and education. She has published over a 100 manuscripts and abstracts in leading journals in her field including the Journal of American College of Cardiology, Circulation, and Journal of Heart & Lung Transplantation. She has been invited as a leader in her field to participate in the writing committees of several national and international heart failure and cardiac transplantation guideline documents, as well as board review chapters. Dr. Ginwalla has been invited to be a chair, panelist and speaker at a multitude of regional, national and international conferences. She has been a member & chair of several national and international committees and organizations. Dr. Ginwalla was elected and re-elected to serve on the Board of the Ohio-American College of Cardiology as a Trustee. She has served as the Chair of the Women in Heart Failure Committee at the Heart Failure Society of America. She has been recognized as one of Castle Connolly’s Top Doctors, Best Doctors by Cleveland Magazine, American Health Council’s “Best in Medicine” and “Best Doctors in America®.”
