Course Description
Statewide gathering of Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) nurses from all 18 California Chapters aimed at equipping oncology nurses with the skills needed to advocate for patients with cancer and those at high risk of developing cancer. This is a non-partisan event offering mentorship and education regarding health policy and government relations.

Learning Objectives
After this activity, learners will be able to:
1. Discuss why the involvement of oncology nurses in statewide policy decisions is pivotal to promoting optimized patient outcomes.
2. Summarize various ways oncology nurses can help influence policy decisions and increase advocacy opportunities.
3. Demonstrate competency in advocacy through engagement of state policy makers on three agenda issues.
