Jamie Mercado, BSN, RN
Jamie Mercado BSN, RN currently works as an experienced Oncology Infusion Nurse for Sutter Roseville Medical Center and serves as Program Chair for the Greater Sacramento Chapter of the Oncology Nursing Society. She began career in 2014 as a new graduate on a dedicated Blood & Marrow Transplant Unit after completing dual Associate's Degrees in Nursing and Health Science from Weber State University. She then obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Utah where she graduated on the Dean’s list and was nominated by faculty to receive the 2016 College of Nursing Outstanding Student in Geriatric Nurse Leadership Award. She has a wide range of inpatient and outpatient clinical experience spanning nearly a decade on various Hematology/Oncology & Medical/Surgical units, often performing in roles such as Preceptor, Float, and Charge Nurse. Her dedication to advocacy is evident by the various committees on which she has served such as: Convention Director Utah Student Nurses Association 2013-2014, Government Legislation Committee member Utah Nurses Association 2014-2017, Medical Team Leader T.R.U.C.E. (Utah based non-profit patient advocacy group) 2016-2017, and Director-at-Large for GSCONS 2019-2021. She relocated to Cameron Park with her husband and three children, and loves living in the foothills of Northern California. In her spare time, she enjoys working on puzzles, visiting indie bookstores and farmers markets, driving through winding country roads, and adventuring to new places.
