Dr. Philip Adam Dodd is a board-certified obstetrician/gynecologist who has been practicing with Gould Medical Group (GMG) in San Joaquin County for over 30 years. Since 2018, Dr. Dodd has served as the Medical Director of Patient Experience & Quality for GMG, where he has focused on enhancing patient experience and provider satisfaction while amplifying high-quality and safe care.

Through his leadership and expertise in quality, Sutter Gould Valley Foundation was able to achieve AAAHC accreditation. Dr. Dodd also helped promote the Art of Communicating with Patient program and its transition into the system wide Relationship Center Care (RC2) program, promoting this initiative throughout the Central Valley region. He also played a pivotal role in supporting teams through the transitions in patient survey reporting. Additionally, in collaboration with GMG leadership, he piloted and launched the Empathetics^® program aimed to improve the patient experience. The program showed advancements and significant improvements in patient experience, provider and staff retention, and notable reductions in physician burnout, and these improvements were presented nationally in 2023 at AMGA, NRC and Beryl Conferences.
