Helena Chung, MPH, RD, CNSC
I grew up in the Bay Area and am so grateful I get to live and work here. My parents emigrated as refugees during the Vietnam war, so I have a soft spot for serving immigrants. After graduating with a degree in health sciences, I initially worked in the public health sphere doing data analysis, presentations on various healthcare topics, coalition building, grant work, and more! My interest in nutrition led me to pursue a master's degree in public health with a registered dietitian license. My original plan was to go back to the community setting. However, during my clinical rotation, I fell in love with the science and interpersonal relationships I got to develop with patients and team members. It's amazing to see how the interdisciplinary set up helps a single patient. Thus, I stayed in the clinical field. I've been with Sutter since 2018. My areas of interest include the geriatric population, malnutrition, nutrition support (enteral and parenteral nutrition), and research.
