Dr. Akers is board certified in Neurology and Clinical Neurophysiology.   Following a period of private practice in San Francisco affiliated with the Department of Neurosciences at California Pacific Medical Center she joined the Sutter West Bay Medical Foundation on January 1, 2011.  Dr. Akers later joined the Mills Peninsula Division of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation on December 1, 2013 where she continues to practice both inpatient and outpatient neurology.

Dr. Akers has subspecialty training in Clinical Neurophysiology and takes a special interest in EMG, Nerve Conduction Studies and neuromuscular disorders but enjoys practicing general neurology in the community.  As neurological problems do not present with a diagnosis, or persons we care for might carry multiple diagnoses, she is proud that PAFMG is providing patients and referring physicians with a general neurology practice.
