Linda Herman, Linda L. Herman, MD, FACEP

Dr. Linda L. Herman serves as the Program Director for the Sutter Roseville Medical Center (SRMC) Emergency Medicine Residency and the Graduate Medical Education Physician Champion for the North Valley, She provides leadership in administration of the emergency medicine residency and facilitating residents' ethical, professional and personal development through education, evaluation and supervision. Dr. Herman also provides oversite and support to other Sutter Health graduate medical education residencies in conjunction with the Director of Graduate Medical Education. She has over 20 years of experience in healthcare education for medical students, nurses, paramedics, EMTs, residents, and physicians.
She graduated with a Degree in Science of Nursing from The Ohio State University in 1972. She was a practicing registered nurse before returning to medical school. Se received her medical degree from The Ohio State University in 1987. Dr. Herman trained in emergency medicine in the University of Illinois Emergency Medicine Residency and following completion of that residency, she completed a Fellowship in Emergency Medical Services in 1991.
Dr. Linda Herman has been a practicing physician at SRMC emergency department for 16 months. Before that she was a practicing emergency medicine physican and emergency medicine program director at Kaweah Health in Visalia, California for 8 years. She was an associate professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine, Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California. Prior to moving to California, she was a practicing physician and associate program director at Presence Health Emergency Medicine Program. She served as the Chair of Continuing Medical Education Committee. She was an assistant clinical professor for the Department of Emergency Medicine, University of Illinois College of Medicine for 22 years.
She has been a member of American College of Emergency Physicians for over 30 years. She has served on the Board of Directors of the Illinois State Chapter. of ACEP. She is a member of the Council of Residency Directors in Emergency Medicine and the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine. She was a member of the Illinois Medical Society and served as a Continuiing Medical Education reviewer for the medical society.
Dr. Herman has been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. She has been awarded Faculty of the Year Award twice in her career and received an award from Kaweah Health for Leadership in Healthcare.
