Nana Efua Adabie, DNP, MSN, PMHNP-BC
Nana Efua Adabie is a PAFMG Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and APC Director of Medical Specialties and Continuum of Care. Born and raised in Ghana, Nana moved to the United States when she was 15 years old. She pursued her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nebraska, followed by a move to San Francisco to obtain both her Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Practice Degree at UCSF. Nana has worked with the underserved populations and the LGBTQ+ community as a PMHNP in the San Francisco Bay Area since 2018. She has clinical experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings diagnosing and treating/managing adults with psychiatric illnesses. Nana's clinical interests include the treatment of mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, ADHD, perinatal and postpartum mental health, leadership, health policy, and teaching/precepting students. Nana advocates for whole person-centered care and promotes a healthy lifestyle in addition to psychopharmacotherapy. Nana has won Preceptor of the Month Award from UCSF in September 2021 and has guest lectured for the UCSF PMHNP program in the past on Perinatal Mental Health.
Nana describes herself as a personable, outgoing, compassionate, open-minded, and life-long learner. Her hobbies include hosting friends and family, photography, floral arrangements, and traveling the world with her husband, Andy, and their three little kids, Frances (Frankie) Ellis (Ellie), and Julien.
