Carolyn Mahaffey has been a NICU nurse at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center for 35 years and is currently a Staff Nurse IV. She became passionate about Trauma Informed Care as it relates to the NICU parent and infant while completing her MSN with a concentration in Education from California State University, East Bay in May 2022. In addition to bedside care, she mentors new hires/new graduates by lecturing in NICU training programs and by serving as a preceptor.
