Aileen McAllister, Aileen McAllister MS, CNS, RN, BC-ADM, CDCES

Aileen started her nursing journey as a bedside nurse and grew into the role of a charge nurse. She qualified for both her Clinical Nurse Specialist and Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE) in 2007. She also earned her Board Certification in Advanced Diabetes Management (BC-ADM) in 2018. She has served as the Diabetes Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) at California Pacific Medical Center (CPMC) since 2008. She split her time between CPMC and the Sutter Health Clinical Leadership Team as the Clinical Performance Improvement (CPIC) for Inpatient Diabetes from 2017-2021, leading the Diabetes inpatient improvement work across Sutter Health hospitals.
Currently, Aileen continues her work in diabetes at CPMC. She is also working on her family nurse practitioner certification through Samuel Merritt University. She hopes to bridge the gap between hospital and clinic diabetes care.
Aileen acquired her nursing degrees from the University of San Francisco and the University of California, San Francisco. Her motivation for improving diabetes and nursing care stems from seeing family, friends and patients with diabetes or who have been hospitalized live very healthy lives.
