Started my RN career at Sutter Memorial Medical Center in 2004 on the telemetry floor for one year. I transferred to the step-down unit before finally transitioning to the ICU. I stayed in the ICU for 13 years as a rapid response nurse, charge nurse and heart nurse. I obtained my MSN with a certification as a Clinical Nurse Leader and transferred over to the Chest Pain Center, and still here and love my job! My main job functions include:
Input Cardiovascular surgery cases into Society of Thoracic Surgeons (STS) National Registry
Input Cardiovascular surgery cases into CA Registry (CCORP)
Participate in our Heart and Vascular Surgery meetings and performance improvement projects
Continuously follow up on STEMI patients and performance improvement projects
Perform analytics with the STS and STEMI cases
Complete STEMI internal reviews
Assist with EMS Recognition reports
Attend Cardiac Section meetings
Assist with CPC Accreditation for STEMI receiving hospital
