Amanda Cooper, Master of Public Health
Amanda has over 15 years of experience in the emergency management field with a primary focus on planning, preparedness, and response for those with disabilities and other access and functional needs.
Amanda began her career as a Public Health Emergency Management Specialist for the State of Alaska where she served in multiple roles including Alaska Health and Disability Program Manager, Planning Section Chief, and ADA Advisor.
In 2016, Amanda was recruited by FEMA to serve as the Disability Integration Advisor for FEMA’s elite National response team. Amanda advised Federal Coordinating Officers and Chiefs of Staff on strategic, operational, and tactical procedures, protocols, and courses of action to ensure an inclusive emergency response and recovery. Amanda responded to more than ten disasters including Hurricane Harvey, Hurricane Maria, and the Camp Fire.
In 2020, Amanda joined Connect Consulting Services as the Senior Planning Specialist. She managed and supported multiple emergency management projects for clients including Planned Parenthood Federation of America, California Department of State Hospitals, and Encina Wastewater Authority.
Amanda joined Sutter Care at Home in June 2022 where she serves as an Environmental Health & Safety Specialist. Her duties in Emergency Preparedness Program Manager, Safety Officer, ADA Coordinator, and ergonomist.
Amanda received her Master of Public Health degree from the University of Alaska and her Bachelor of Arts in biology from Northwest Nazarene University. Amanda is a Certified ADA Coordinator and Certified ADA Professional.
