Jose was born in Zacatecas, Mexico and spent most of his childhood in Bakersfield, CA. He is fluent in English and Spanish. He worked as an Emergency Medical Technician and was involved with the community providing preventative health education to underserved areas before returning to school to complete his Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies at the University of Utah in 2018. He has always been interested in serving the community and continues to promote preventative care with his patients. Outside of work he enjoys cooking with family, hiking, and traveling.
