0222_SCH_Sterile Compounding Best Practices_Live
Description:
Pharmacy personnel providing care to patients by preparing compounding sterile preparation medications are faced with updated USP 797 regulations related to compounding procedures and must be knowledgeable on how to implement the revised regulation requirements. This live training component transforms pharmacy theory into practice, bringing best practices to life with skill-based simulation and competency assessment through return demonstration. Setting the stage, an opening presentation brings to the forefront key elements of the reason for revising compounding standards, increased quality assurance and mechanisms for quality control detailed in current compounding regulations. Participants will rotate through a series of three practical labs to simulate the role of compounder and compounding trainer. Participants will engage in skill demonstration including gowning, donning sterile glove technique, aseptic techniques for non-hazardous drug compounding, and revised cleaning procedures all within their facility cleanroom to capture the specific operational components within their facility.
