I am a physician-scientist in the Division of Pulmonary Sciences and Critical Care Medicine at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. My research interests focus on the cognitive consequences (i.e., acutely as delirium and chronically as long-term cognitive dysfunction) of sepsis and other critical illness. I perform both basic and translational research in this realm seeking to identify the relevance of brain-penetrating heparan sulfate and chondroitin sulfate in these conditions. Ultimately, I seek to develop novel biomarkers and/or therapeutics for these understudied problems.
