Jeffrey Stoneberg, D.O.
Dr. Stoneberg was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He attended Penn State University where he majored in Engineering, then went on to complete a post baccalaureate program to meet the requirements for entrance into the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine where he graduated in 2001. He then completed his residency in internall medicine at Crozer Chester Medical Center just south of Philadelphia. This is where he became interested in caring for those patients who were very sick and nearing the end of life which led him to pursue a fellowship in hospice and palliative care at the Institute for Palliative Medicine at San Diego Hospice. Following completion of his fellowship, he worked at San Diego Hospice providing care to hospice patients at home, skilled nursing facilities and also inpatient hospice. It was during this time that he also began to work at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego running their palliative care consult service. Dr. Stoneberg came so Sutter to start the palliative care program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in 2011 where he provided inpatient palliative care consultation at two campuses and also started an outpatient palliative care clinic at the Herrick Campus in Berkeley. In 2020, he joined the palliative care team at Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento where he continues to work as a palliative care consultant both in the hospital and also the outpatient clinic.
