Learners attending this session will gain practical knowledge of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) techniques for treating substance use disorders, with a focus on supporting patient goals ranging from moderation to abstinence. The session will cover core CBT principles, effective strategies for preparing clients for change, and methods for addressing unhelpful thinking and common barriers in clinical practice. Participants will also explore ways to tailor interventions to diverse populations and integrate compassionate, patient-centered care into their approach.
