This event will be on California's End of Life Option Act (EOLA), which allows an adult diagnosed with a terminal disease, who meets certain qualifications, to request the aid-in-dying drugs from their attending physician. The event will cover the history of this ACT, safeguards, concerns, ethics, and practice case discussions.

After completing this activity, learners will be able to:

1. Describe at least two changes in public policies around the practice of medical aid in dying in the United States, including California's End of Life Option Act.

2. Describe at least two common concerns and/or motivations of people who request aid in dying

3. Identify at least one ethical challenge for health care providers in responding to requests.

4. Develop a plan for adapting psychosocial assessment and care for individuals and families considering the legal option of medically assisted death
