Description:
This virtual grand rounds lecture will focus on historical development of ethical issues and disparities within the U.S. healthcare system. Delivering historical perspective on ethical deviations and inequities in the delivery of healthcare in the United States reveals how deeply ingrained biases, social structures, and historical injustices have shaped the healthcare system. While significant strides have been made to address these issues, systemic inequities still persist. Addressing these challenges requires a multifaceted approach, including policy reforms, cultural shifts in healthcare practices, and an ongoing commitment to health equity and justice.
