0453_ABSMC_Journal Club: The Prostate_ Live
Description:
Staying abreast of current guidelines and evidence-based practices to improve the quality of care is an important component of optimizing patient outcomes. Journal Club is an opportunity for the primary care team to learn about the newest and most recent developments in the sub-specialty clinical space. August's journal club will focus on the prostate and prostate cancer. Prostate cancer affects men between the ages of 45 and 60 of all racial groups and is a significant contributor to increased mortality in Western Countries. Practice gaps exist because benign and malignant prostate-specific membrane antigens (PSMA) can be difficult to distinguish. This month's journal club analyze the evidence supporting utilization of intra-prostatic PSMA PET/CT patterns to optimize prostate cancer diagnosis and allows for an open discussion of the findings.
