This live virtual continuing education course provides training to the SBMF policy: “Performing an Electrocardiogram (ECG) for Adult and Pediatric Patient.” It addresses racial and ethnic disparities of heart disease and provides necessary guidance for patient safety using best practice principles. It walks the student through correct lead placement and basic troubleshooting techniques. Anatomy and Physiology of the conduction system is explained, including how to recognize a sinus rhythm and calculate the heart rate from an EKG tracing.
