0417_SHVGR_Pediatric Food Allergies: Current Highlights_Live
Description:
Allergic reactions can be life-threatening. Everyone, children included, should know how to identify the symptoms of a food allergy emergency. This virtual grand rounds delivery will act as an overview of the pathophysiology of pediatric food allergies, covers risk factors and preventative measures when treating the patient, and provides key insight for the non-allergist as they help to manage food allergies diagnosed in children.

Learning Objectives
After completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
- Review the prevalence and pathophysiology of common pediatric food allergies.
- Identify individuals at-risk for food allergies, signs and symptoms of allergic reactions, and diagnostic steps.
- Consider current recommendations for prevention and management, including the non-allergists' role.
- Prioritize emergent response with recognition of anaphylaxis and assist individuals with food allergies to develop a plan for how to handle a food allergy emergency.
