Description:
Clinicians should be knowledgeable about the various neurocognitive disorders which are common and devastating in older adults. Primary care providers vary in their expertise and background knowledge of dementia diagnostic criteria, treatment, and indications for referral. This presentation aims to close the practice gap by reducing the variability in knowledge on dementia care basics among primary care providers.

• Distinguish between mild cognitive impairment and dementia, and between Alzheimer’s and non-Alzheimer’s dementia.
