0355_ADS_14th Annual Pre-Conference of the American Delirium Society_Live
Description:
The American Delirium Society’s (ADS) 14th Annual Pre-Conference focuses on learning with a diverse group of attendees across many disciplines and countries – each and every one striving to improve delirium care across all healthcare settings. This experiential learning session features both a "Quality Improvement Bootcamp" and simulation training to apply delirium detection tools and strategies to identify delirium risk factors for prevention, delirium causes for early intervention, and delirium impact for family-focused care. Participants work in teams to find clues across the care continuum, from home to primary care to ED to acute care and then back to home with home health follow-up. Once the standardized patient has escaped delirium, teams submit how many prevention and mitigation "clues" they identified in this active learning session conceptualized as a "Delirium Detective Academy". Participants in this experiential learning session include bedside clinicians (any discipline or experience level), patient advocates, healthcare educators, and others with an interest in discovering how to provide compassionate, whole-person care for patients at risk for or experiencing delirium and their loved ones who care for them!
Target Audience
Nurse Practitioner (NP)
