Description:
Cognitive and implicit biases negatively impact clinicians’ decision-making capacity and can have devastating consequences for safe, effective, and equitable healthcare provision. This presentation focuses on strategies to explicitly address, or unlearn, implicit biases through case-based discussions using realistic clinical situations. Learners are encouraged to adopt strategies shown to be effective in addressing biases which can impact patient care outcomes.
