The SCL1 program helps develop the essential leadership competencies of our organization's emerging leaders in a healthcare environment. The Sutter Certified Leader demonstrates emotional intelligence, influence, and communication skills, and has built a strong team through leadership, coaching and staff engagement.

Learning Objectives

After Attending this Activity, Learners Should be Able to:

  • Recognize current strengths and opportunities in the area of Emotional Intelligence through an online assessment and create an actionable plan using the Emotional Intelligence strategies reviewed in the course. 
  • Demonstrate change leadership skills to lead and support change efforts within our organization via a SCL1 process improvement project.
  • Apply a foundational understanding of how habits and strategic planning work, how to create meaningful leadership habits, and create systems to sustain successful leadership practices that are tracked through self-reflection and accountability partners.
  • Summarize various approaches to leadership styles and practice the skill application through role play and coaching demonstrations.
  • Apply trust building and difficult conversation skills to increase the confidence, effectiveness, and outcome of conversations around performance, development, inclusion and process improvement.
