Understanding of the best practices in gender affirming care including the barriers gender diverse individuals face in accessing medical care is associated with improved health outcomes and equity. This course will provide an overview of compassionate care and best practices for working with gender diverse patients.

1. Discuss the impact of microaggression on client’s choosing to us for care.
2. Identify at least 4 specific actions the caregiver can take that demonstrate compassion.
3. Support best practices when caring for gender diverse patients.
