The clinical leadership excellence program as a whole is implemented to provide new and existing physician leaders with skills and strategies needed to succeed in their roles using the 4 E’s of Exploration, Education, Exposure, and Experience. This series of 90-minute modules, occurring approximately once a month throughout the year for a total of 13 sessions, includes pre-work before each module and case-based discussions to promote active learning strategies. The program also includes a special focus on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion with the principles of DEI integrated into all modules where leaders can identify, describe, and demonstrate inclusive behaviors.

This module addresses dyad leaders' inconsistencies in their understanding of the impacts of burnout, including to patient safety, an effective approaches to help support a culture of well-being.

Program features:

• Incorporate adult learning styles – combination of didactic, exercises and interactive learning

• Facilitated by internal subject matter experts (both physicians and operational leaders)

• Designed to address competencies needed based on physician leader job descriptions

1. Summarize factors that influence “Burnout”.

2. Identify leadership behaviors and “best practices” that positively impact joy of work.

3. Apply tools and leadership behaviors that impact joy of work, share ideas and begin a plan for your site.
