Description:
There has been an increase in ethics consultations involving pediatrics. These ethic consultations include unique situations involving identification of, and conflict between parents, pediatric rights etc. Through the Continuum of Development: Guiding Ethical Decision Making in Pediatrics was designed to provide strategies and best practices to ensure ethical decision making in complex pediatric patient situations.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this course, learners should be able to:
1) Discuss the essential components of shared decision making in Pediatrics.
2) Describe effective communication tools to share bad news with parents in the hospital setting.
3) Apply strategies for navigating parents through difficult decisions in tragic medical situations.
