Course Description
This presentation provides a review of the CA state genetic screening requirements in light of recent changes, updates on carrier screenings, and provides a forum for discussion of benefits and limitations of prenatal screening. Guidelines and recommendations specific to non-invasive Prenatal Screening (NIPS)/cf DNA for Aneuploidy, maternal serum AFP for open neural tube or abdominal wall defects, and the mandated use of 1st TM AIUM anatomy survey will also be shared.

After completion of this course, learners should be able to:
• Review recent updates in the California Prenatal Screening Program.
• Assess the role of the first trimester nuchal translucency (NT) ultrasound.
• Discuss benefits and limitations of prenatal screening as well as new options in expanded carrier screening.
