Description: 

Physicians seek to improve their competence, knowledge, and skills to evaluate, assess, diagnose and manage complex stroke cases. Active discussion using stroke case studies and practice-based neurological patient care management will promote interactive dialogue to improve overall neurological knowledge, competency, and performance of the conference attendees. Specialist physicians, APCs and RNs from neurology, neuroradiology, neurosurgery, and neurointerventional radiology will have an opportunity to present their patient cases and participate in active best practice recommendation discussions.

Learning Objectives: 

1. Review imaging of cases presented and discuss approach to imaging acquisition and interpretation (including differential diagnosis based on imaging), correlating neuroimaging to patient presentation.

2. Discuss social issues, age, gender, language, and ethnicity impacts on clinical presentation and/or implicit biases impacts on treatment planning.

3. Apply diagnostic imaging interpretation to treatment/management of complex stroke patients.

4. Evaluate cases collaboratively to promote informed decision-making skills on clinical treatment plan for the patient.

5. Consider the rapid evolution of stroke patient management as evidenced by literature and adopt best practices aligned with the current state of the science.
