0500_SHVGR_ Surgical Mgmt of Primary Hyperparathyroidism_Live

January 15, 2025

Description:

It's crucial for clinicians to understand the surgical management of primary hyperparathyroidism (PHTP) because surgery is the only definitive treatment for this condition, offering a cure by removing the overactive parathyroid gland, and therefore proper diagnosis and referral to a skilled surgeon is critical for optimal patient care. This includes recognizing potential symptoms, accurately interpreting diagnostic tests, and understanding the different surgical approaches to ensure the best possible outcome for the patient, especially when considering factors like the patient's age, symptoms, and severity of hypercalcemia.

Target Audience

Nurse Practitioner (NP)

Nurse, Registered (RN)

Pharmacists (PharmD)

Physicians (MD or DO)
