Heidi has been a registered nurse for over 24 years. Her background in nursing includes post-surgical urology and gynecology, labor and delivery, high-risk antepartum, maternal-newborn care, newborn nursery, travel nursing, and community health. Heidi has been in higher education as an Associate Professor for the past six years, teaching Maternal-Newborn Nursing, Community Health Nursing, Health Assessment, and Introduction to the Nursing Profession. She also teaches as a clinical nurse educator III in the labor and delivery and postpartum nursing transition to care programs and the breastfeeding program at Sutter Health University. She had the pleasure working as a labor and delivery nurse for Sutter Roseville Medical Center and for Sutter Medical Center, Sacramento for the seven years before becoming a full-time nursing instructor. Her compassion for others and passion for the nursing profession shines through her teaching in both the classroom and community settings.
