I have been working in healthcare since late 1980's.  My direct caregiver experience has been focused in level-one trauma centers in Ohio, Illinois, and California.  In the mid 1990's I pivoted into the world of technology, informatics, and hospital operations.  My first informatics role was focused on the design, build, and support of an electronic health record.  Since my first informatics role, I have worked for a software vendor, single hospitals, and enterprise health systems supporting countless clinical/business applications that are used in day-to-day hospital operations.  In an effort to continuously grow into new roles and titles, I completed a Bachelor's Degree in Business/ Project Management and a Master's degree in Information Systems.  Along the way, I became a certified Nurse Informaticist, CPHIMSS certified professional, and earned the Project Manager Professional certification.  

In contrasting informatics from where I started today, there has been monumental change.  Over the next several years, I am optimistic around the future opportunity to continuously bring technology solutions to healthcare providers and hospital leaders.  --Mary
