Nirupa Chakravarthi, MPH is an epidemiologist who graduated from Boston university with a master's in public health in 2017. Nirupa's journey began as a research scientist in Singapore, delving into the evolution of influenza viruses using phylogenetics and conducting surveillance on small mammals, notably bats. Yes, Bats! During the pandemic, Nirupa volunteered at her former workplace, the Laboratory of Viral Evolution, contributing her expertise in phylogenetic analysis on the novel SARS-CoV-2.
While life took a turn and working in high-risk environment would be challenging to her young family, she shifted gears to focus on her love for education, taking up the role of CME Coordinator at PAMF for 5 years before transitioning into leadership as a Manager of Continuing Professional Development. Her dedication to crafting transformative learning experiences and, planning data driven and performance improvement activities has been aimed at improving patient care and experience. Nirupa's extensive background in scientific research, epidemiology, and strong statistical skills, coupled with her knack for simplifying complex problems, are invaluable assets to the continuing professional development team, enhancing the quality of clinical education for all healthcare professionals.
