0397-3_PAFMG_Synergy Summit_Reducing the Adverse Health Impacts from Stress Breakout Session 1 and 5_Live
Synergy Summit Description:
The Covid-19 pandemic, which began four years ago, has led to significant physical and mental burnout among healthcare workers. Despite the industry’s recovery, burnout persists due to factors such as resource shortages, insufficient education on best practices, unsustainable workloads, and a lack of support systems. Burnout can negatively impact patient care by reducing the quality of interactions between healthcare providers and patients, leading to poorer communication, loss of pertinent information, and increased likelihood of errors. This PAMF retreat offers a platform for physicians and healthcare providers to engage in educational medical activities, fostering a sense of community and belonging with the ultimate aim to improve patient care and satisfaction. A keynote address on “Transformative Care” will be featured along with various breakout sessions that will cover topics including virtual reality to reduce clinician burnout, wellbeing, cancer care, integrative medicine, narrative medicine, environmental health, and the link between fermented foods and a healthier gut microbiome. These educational activities are aimed to educate our healthcare providers and better equip them to educate their patients, empowering them with knowledge about their health conditions and treatments.
Presentation Description:
This session delves into the complex interplay between chronic stress and health outcomes, focusing on the pathological consequences such as hypercortisolemia and cortisol resistance. Participants will explore how prolonged, repetitive stress can lead to significant physiological and psychological issues, and learn strategies for identifying and mitigating these effects in their patients. The session will also enhance providers' understanding of how herbal supplements can influence stress management. By discussing current evidence and practical applications of various botanicals, attendees will gain insights into effectively integrating these supplements into patient care. Through case studies and interactive discussions, participants will develop skills to better inquire about and advise patients on their use of herbal remedies, ultimately aiming to reduce stress-related health impacts and improve overall patient well-being.
