Description:
Sutter Certified Leader 2 (SCL2) enables frontline leaders to hone their managerial courage to lead others with emotional intelligence and inclusivity, while efficiently managing their business units to support Sutter Health’s Mission and Leadership Commitments. Target Audience: High-potential assistant managers, supervisors, managers, and others in similar leadership roles in all Sutter Health professions. Participants must have direct reports, responsibility for leading their units, departments, and or care center/medical offices, managing their cost center budgets that have been in role at least 9-12 months. Ideal candidates model behavior aligned with Sutter Health values including: practice of curiosity/continuous improvement; inclusive team practices; compassion towards others; and a demonstrated willingness to learn, improve, and grow.

Learning Objectives
After completion of this activity, learners should be able to:
1. Demonstrate awareness of Emotional Intelligence strengths and opportunities around: Self Awareness, Self-Management, and Relationship Management.
2. Identify strategies, such as mindfulness practices, to support your Emotional Intelligence.
3. Create an actionable plan to support your ongoing growth and development in areas of opportunity for your Emotional Intelligence.
4. Create a conversation plan to continually strive to demonstrate inclusive conversation skills that support an inclusive and belonging environment through courageous conversations.
5. Explain and coach others on the change process and underlying concepts of change management.
6. Integrate change management frameworks, such as ADKAR and CLARC, into your SCL2 experiential learning project.
7. Apply a foundational understanding of how habits work, how to create meaningful leadership habits, and create systems to sustain successful leadership practices that are tracked through self-reflection and accountability partners.
8. Summarize various approaches to team problem solving and practice the skill application through coaching demonstrations.
