April Ehrlich, MD
Dr. April Ehrlich holds a bachelors’ degree in Science in Health Science and a Doctor of Medicine from the University of Arizona. She completed her Internal Medicine residency training through the Johns Hopkins Bayview Internal Medicine Residency Program and her Geriatrics Fellowship through the Johns Hopkins Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology Fellowship Training Program. Following her fellowship training she joined the T32 Training Program in Health Service and Outcomes Research for Aging Populations through which she recently completed a Master of Health Science through the Graduate Training Programs in Clinical Investigation at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. Her passion lies in program development and implementation to improve inpatient outcomes in cognitively and functionally frail older adults, particularly following significant stressors like surgery and emergent care. She embodies the team approach to research working alongside a transdisciplinary team of geriatricians, surgeons, anesthesiologists, and emergency physicians both nationwide and internationally with whom she recently published works highlighting improved clinical and cost outcomes following the implementation of a geriatric surgery pathway. She is now taking lessons learned to work towards better understanding pragmatic ways to combat inpatient delirium.
