C. Adrian Austin, MD, MSCR is an Intensivist, Pulmonologist, and Geriatrician at UNC.  His clinical interests are preserving older adults' functionality by focusing on their respiratory system, and managing the the issues faced by survivors of severe critical illness.  His primary research interest is in using pharmacogenetics to guide medication selection to reduce delirium in the inpatient setting.  He additionally has a research interest in methods to improve delirium and delirium outcomes measurements.   He also has interest and expertise in using telemedicine for delirium assessment.
