Laura Shanks, PhD, MSN, MHA, RN, ACNS-BC serves as a registered nurse for the Acute Pain Service team at VCU Health.  She has been in health care for over 30 years.  Her focus is in adult and geriatric nursing with a focus on pain and delirium management.  She completed her dissertation focused on nurse recognition of hypoactive delirium. She continues her work in delirium at VCU Health.
